Technical Data Butyl for Extrusion machines material:          butyl rubber (polyisobutylene) solid content: 100 % temperature range: -30°C to +130°C (-22°F to +266°F) density: approx. 1.15 g/cm³ maximum temperature: +160°C (320°F) resistance to steam penetration: 0.1 g/(m²d) Cylindrical slug Colour: black Product information Butyl rubber consists of polyisobutylene material and is used as primary sealant in IG-glass production. Application Extrusion temperature between +100°C and +130°C (+212°F and +266°F). Surfaces to be sealed must be sound, dry, clean and free of oil, grease, laitance, rust and other foreign material that would prevent proper adhesion. The environment temperature should not be lower than 10°C (50°F) in application. The information provided herein is based on average values under normal conditions. It does not dispense the buyer (user) from conducting tests of suitability for the envisaged application. Home
